Handball: Angolan pivot Liliane Venâncio heads to Romania

One of the main figures of the national handball team, pivot Liliana Venâncio accepted the challenge of HC Dunarea Braila and will play in Romania, after signing a contract valid for 12 months.

The handball player, only 25 years old but who is already one of the national highlights of the sport – was in line for 1.º de Agosto.

Liliana is now heading to Southeast Europe, arriving to compete in the senior national championship of the sport. After signing a contract valid for one year – this Tuesday – the renewal of the handball player will continue to be negotiated by both parties throughout the season.

At 1.90 meters tall, the Angolan played several times for the national team, including in the Club World Cup and the Olympic Games.

She represented Angola in Luanda 2016, Brazzaville 2018 and Yaoundé 2021, having been national champion in 2020, by 1.º de Agosto.

In Romania, the athlete will meet another Angolan pivot, Ruth João, who joins the team from the French club Paris 92.

Remember that HC Dunarea Braila is guided by the former national team and coach of 1.º de Agosto, Morten Soubak.
