According to the spokesman for the Luanda Provincial Command of the National Police, Nestor Goubel, the arrest of the suspects, after two hours of intense operation, took place in the early evening of Thursday.
In a first approach, said the official, a police patrol stopped two individuals aboard a vehicle, one of whom had a firearm and the other fled.
"At that moment, three other suspects from the same group appeared aboard a vehicle that fired shots at the police forces, ending up fatally hitting a car driver [taxi driver]", said Nestor Goubel.
The shots fired caused panic among citizens circulating in and around Largo das Heroínas, urban district of Maianga, center of Luanda, after which the suspects took refuge in an unfinished building.
For his capture, personnel from the rapid intervention police, the Criminal Investigation Service and other agents of the corporation were mobilized.
Nestor Goubel assured that the four detainees and the seized assets were forwarded to Organs competent bodies for the initiation of the criminal process of qualified homicide and criminal association.
