"These are provisional data, because we are still in the process of processing the database itself", explained Marcy Lopes, having warned that the provisional number will suffer a significant reduction, with the removal of deceased citizens and with suspended political and civil rights.
The removal of these citizens from the database will be carried out by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and the Superior Council of the Judiciary, he said.
Citizens who reach 18 years of age after the date of the elections will not be able to exercise their right to vote, nor be part of the Computer File of Senior Citizens, to be delivered to the National Electoral Commission (CNE).
"We have to wait for the announcement of the elections, to define the exact day of the elections. As a result, all those people who turn 18 years of age, after the date of the elections, should also not be included in the Computer File of Senior Citizens" , clarified.
According to the Minister of Territory Administration, the final computer file must be sent to the CNE within 10 days after the general elections are called by the President of the Republic, in accordance with the Organic Law on General Elections.
The Official Election Process, which began on September 23, 2021 and ended on April 7 of this year, covered only 12 countries, due to logistical constraints created by the covid-19 pandemic.
"We had great difficulty in extending this process to all countries where there are Angolan communities residing, due to the constraints imposed by the pandemic, the long periods of quarantine, and logistical constraints", justified the minister.
Unofficial voter registration was carried out in South Africa, Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Portugal, Namibia, DRC, Congo Brazzaville, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Zambia.
