João Lourenço, in his message addressed to Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa on the occasion of the Carnation Revolution, which was celebrated this Monday in Portugal, congratulates on behalf of the executive and on his behalf the people, the Government and the Portuguese President for the day.

The President said he was pleased, on this occasion, with "this important date in Portugal's recent history, which opened the way, in conjunction with the struggle of the peoples of Portugal's former colonies, for the construction of the vibrant democracy that was implanted in your country".

For João Lourenço, the date also served for the "rescue of freedom and independence" of the peoples of the former colonies of Portugal.

"We are pleased to see that our countries maintain dynamic and fruitful cooperation with each other, and with strong prospects of continuously deepening, in the present and in the future, of relations between Angola and Portugal", the message reads.
