According to a note made available on Facebook from the Presidency, the head of state participated in a virtual way in the meeting, "convened to assess the security situation in the Republic of Mozambique".
"Southern African leaders, in their appreciation of what is happening in Mozambique in the field of the fight against terrorism, considered that the situation has evolved positively", the note reads.
At the end of the meeting, Téte António, quoted by Angop, said that despite the positive evolution, there is still a lot of work ahead.
He further added that SADC member countries reaffirm their support in helping Mozambique.
According to Angop, in August last year, the SADC mission in Mozambique went to the field to "fight acts of terrorism and violent extremism in the northern region of Cabo Delgado province", which has been the target of terrorist actions since 2017.
