Sonangol partially sold stakes in eight oil concessions

The state oil company announced this Friday the partial sale of shares in eight oil concessions in the country, in a limited public tender and without mentioning the value of the deal.

In a statement to which Agência Lusa had access, Sonangol states that Blocks 3/05, 4/05, 5/06, 15/06, 18, 23 were open to a public tender for the partial sale of its participating interests. , 27 and 31.

According to Sonangol, for the production sites, Afentra (20 percent) was selected for Block 3/05; for Block 15/06, Namcor, Sequa and Petrolog (10 percent); for Block 18, Somoil and Sirius (8.5 percent) and for Block 31, Somoil and Sirius (10 percent).

For the blocks under exploration, the Angolan state oil company selected Namcor, Sequa and Petrolog (40 percent operator) and Afentra (40 percent) for Block 23 and Namcor, Sequa and Petrolog (35 percent) for Block 27. and Somoil and Sirius (25 percent).

After evaluating the proposals received, the companies that presented values ​​that were closest to those established in the sales conditions defined by Sonangol were selected.

"The partial sale of participating interests, in the aforementioned oil concessions, is part of Sonangol's strategy of repositioning and sustainability of its investment portfolio", underlines the note.

Sonangol privatized 13 assets in 2021, which yielded US$37 million, announced in February this year, the president of the oil company, adding that the company continues to prepare, without haste, to disperse up to 30 percent of its capital on the stock exchange.
