Agriculture and commerce are the sectors with most projects funded by Prodesi

The list of projects funded by the Program to Support Production, Export Diversification and Import Substitution (Prodesi) is led by the agriculture and trade sectors. According to Mário Caetano, Secretary of State for the Economy, since 2019 the program has approved 351 projects linked to agriculture and 216 linked to trade and distribution.

The transformation industry comes next on the list, with 111 approved projects. According to the official, livestock, aquaculture and marine fisheries also stand out, with 30, 24 and 23 approved projects, respectively.

Cited by Angop, Mário Caetano said that, since 2019, the financial tools at Prodesi's disposal allowed to give the green light to 760 projects, adding that the approved initiatives amount to a value of about 511.6 billion kwanzas.

Mário Caetano, who was speaking at the bi-weekly briefing of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, also highlighted the register of more than 2000 requests since the micro-credit financing line of the Economic Relief Measures started operating.

According to the official, since the line became operational 2104 requests have been registered, in the amount of about 5 billion kwanzas.

He also made an assessment of the registrations in the National Production Disclosure Portal. Stressing that the registrations are ongoing, the secretary said that since the portal went into effect 11,668 national producers have been registered.
