Vidatel de Isabel dos Santos represented by a judicial administrator at the Unitel meeting

Vidatel, owned by businesswoman Isabel dos Santos, will be represented at the next general meeting of telecommunications operator Unitel, scheduled for May 26, by a judicial administrator appointed by the Supreme Court of the British Virgin Islands.

:

According to a source contacted by Lusa, the representation of the shareholder Vidatel by the judicial administrator follows from the judicial decision made public in December last year.

The businesswoman, who owned 25 percent of Unitel, through Vidatel, lost control of the company, through a decision by the British Virgin Islands Supreme Court made public by PT Ventures, which was sold to the state oil company Sonangol, which now owns the company. majority shareholder in the operator (50 percent).

According to a statement released at the time by PT Ventures, the court decided to appoint judicial administrators for the management of specific assets of Vidatel, Limited, Isabel dos Santos' company registered in the Virgin Islands, transferring all the bank accounts held and / or controlled by Vidatel.

The directors also started to control the 25 percent participation, including the rights inherent to that participation, namely Vidatel's voting and representation rights at Unitel's general shareholders' meetings and Vidatel's right to receive past and future dividends ( including interest on them) from Unitel.

At the next general meeting of Unitel - the first without Isabel dos Santos - shareholders will deliberate on eight points, according to the notice published this Friday in Jornal de Angola.

The work agenda includes deliberations on the report and accounts for the year 2020 and the proposal for the application of the results, assessment of the company's performance, and the proposal for the attribution of awards to the members of the board of directors.

Information on the participation in BFA and the balance of shareholder dividends in Unitel's accounts and deliberation on the decision of the Provincial Court of Luanda regarding the annulment of the deliberations of the general meeting of 15 December 2014 are also on the agenda.
