Simão Milagres, who was speaking at the end of the ceremony commemorating the 45th anniversary of the SME, said that even during the period of the covid-19 pandemic, marked by greater restrictions on mobility, the institution "has not ceased its activity in terms of combating illegal immigration.
According to the spokesman, at the level of border provinces, Cabinda, Zaire, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Moxico, Cuando Cubango and Cunene registered very significant numbers regarding the repatriation of illegal immigrants.
"For example, about 123,000 people, in the last 12 months, were expelled from the country. The truth is that, far from all these restrictions, the EMS is attentive to all those foreigners who try to enter the country illegally," said Simão Milagres.
The responsible stressed that the migratory flows during the covid-19 pandemic were restricted, the EMS registered a significant decrease of both entries and exits in the country.
Regarding the security of the country's land borders, Simão Milagres said that technological investment is essential, given the increasing openness to the world.
"Opening the country to the world means that we are technically, technologically and humanly prepared to be able to better control the process of entry and exit of foreign citizens and nationals in our country," he said.
