The First Lady's office, in an association with the Government for the promotion of equality and equity in children's rights, offered the hospital disposable diapers, oral hygiene kits, wipes, body care products, porridge and milk.
According to Angop, this donation is part of the third parcel of goods delivered to the pediatric unit, the first taking place in 2018 and the second in 2019.
On the occasion, Ana Dias Lourenço explained that the support results from the collaboration of her office with partners who support the initiatives of the 'Roda do Amor' platform. "This support is only possible thanks to the support of our partners, through the two companies that, since 2018, have expressed their willingness to give these children what is necessary," she said.
The first lady appealed to the hospital management to continue with dedication, commitment and responsibility in the treatment of children.
Carlos Zeca, director of the Hospital Geral de Luanda, referred that since 2018 - the start date of the support provided by the project - around 23 thousand children have benefited from the allocation of various goods such as food supplements, hygiene products, clothing bedding, clothing, disposable diapers and toys.
It should be remembered that this unit has an installed capacity of 219 beds and 12 incubators in its pediatric service, offering care to children from birth to 14 years of age.
