PREI approved credits worth 49.2 million kwanzas

Last week, the Program for the Reconversion of the Informal Economy (PREI) received 39 applications, of which 31 were approved, resulting in funding worth 49.2 million kwanzas.

"The Program for the Reconversion of the Informal Economy (PREI) registered 39 credit applications worth 75.7 million kwanzas last week," the government indicates in a statement, adding that "of this number, 31 applicants were approved and benefited from funding worth 49.2 million kwanzas."

According to the note, of the 49.2 million kwanzas granted, 20.4 were "destined for the sector of products and services of the agro-business chain," 14.8 were for agro-food and fishing logistics and distribution, 10 million kwanzas were for "software development and four million kwanzas for the food processing sector."

The micro-credit financing line, which concerns the Economic Relief Measures, has so far registered 2143 applications worth 5.1 billion kwanzas.

"The operationalization of the micro-credit line has already allowed for the creation of 2284 jobs, managed by 1185 female and 1099 male micro-entrepreneurs," the statement said, adding that the stock of financing "since the beginning of the operationalization of this line is 1.7 billion kwanzas.

By the end of next year, the objective established in the National Development Plan is "the formalization of two thousand micro-entrepreneurs. This year, 530 are already enrolled, but the goal is to reach 750 micro-entrepreneurs".
