AIPEX recorded private investment of over three billion dollars in the SEZ

In the last three years, the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) has recorded private investment of three billion and 492 dollars in several projects in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Luanda-Bengo. The revelation was made this Monday, by the president of the board of directors of SEZ, Henrique da Silva, during a visit of the diplomatic corps accredited in Angola to the SEZ.

Both national and foreign investors have decided to bet on projects in the SEZ, he said, adding that the industry sector led the list of preferences.

Cited by Angop, Henrique da Silva informed that, in the last three years, 23 thousand and 191 national jobs and 796 expatriates were marked by AIPEX.

The responsible also made known that of the amount invested during the last three years, US$120 million are for 2020, a year that he considered exceptional because of the covid-19 pandemic.

Henrique da Silva said he believes that "throughout this year and in 2022 the recovery will be effective in the agricultural sector.

The SEZ was created in 2009 and currently has 80 companies installed. ZEE aims to attract both domestic and foreign investment, as well as encourage the development of the national economy.
