Angolan authors participate in book that celebrates the World Day of the Portuguese Language

The book "Sonhar Brasília", which will be launched in early May to mark the World Day of the Portuguese Language, has the participation of two Angolans. The writer João de Melo and the illustrator Nelo de Tumbula are the two Angolans who are part of the list of authors who participated in the work.

According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the book will be launched virtually on May 5, on the United Nations Educational and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) platform and on Youtube.

The launch, scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., "is part of the celebration of World Day of the Portuguese Language.

This work is "a collection of narrative texts from eight nations of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, which relate their perceptions of the city of Brasilia, capital of Brazil," indicates the note.

The event is a realization of the Executive Secretariat of CPLP, UNESCO in Brazil, the Government of Distrito Federal, in partnership with the Embassies of Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal and East Timor and Camões (Portuguese Cultural Center in Brasilia).

The note also reports that this event "marks the first time that a non-official language of UNESCO will be celebrated by the organization.
