Teaching comes home. State of emergency makes tele-classes a reality

The state of emergency and the need to keep the population in their dwelling came to materialize a project that until now had not yet 'left the paper'. Education at home is getting closer to becoming a reality in the country, after a cooperation protocol initialed this Wednesday between the Ministry of Education and Public Television of Angola (TPA).

The transmission of tele-classes is foreseen, with television reproducing educational content in public media. TPA should adapt the spaces and times of its programming grid, in order to facilitate the emission of these contents.

The protocol is valid for one year, being renewable for an equal period of time after analyzing the pros and cons of the experience.

The aim is to reinforce the teaching process and the learning of students in the general education subsystem.

“Considering the pertinence of the implementation of the tele-classroom model at home, during the period of state of emergency, the parties agreed to produce and broadcast didactic content of general education, through tele-classes, in the public media”, refers to a statement from the entities, cited by Angop.

It is known that the didactic content to be transmitted will obey the requirements established by the Ministry of Education. The latter will also be responsible for defining the content production parameters, and must indicate the competent bodies and services for that purpose.

The agreement was initialed by Luísa Alves Grilo, Minister of Education, and Francisco Mendes, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TPA, with the testimony of the Minister of Social Communication, Nuno Caldas Albino.
