Authorities again warn of misuse of 111 and threaten with ‘blacklist’

National authorities will criminally hold people who misuse the 111 emergency line, who may also be on a “black list”, seeing access to the blocked number.

:

The information was provided by the Ministry of Interior (MININT) spokesman, Valdemar José, during an operational assessment of the state of emergency in the country, which took place this Thursday in Luanda.

"We are now counting and placing citizens who systematically call terminal 111 on a black list", which could cause them to be blocked if they continue to behave, he said, indicating that the police will move forward to civil and criminal liability and admits to applying “sanctioning measures” in the coming days.

The sub-commissioner again appealed to citizens not to adopt this type of behavior, remembering that Angola is experiencing a state of emergency and that in the future they may need to use the line, being then stopped by the system, which identifies and locates the calls.

About 90 percent of calls to line 111 are not validated, according to authorities.

Valdemar José pointed out, on the other hand, that there were several agents attacked by popular people, including cases of being run over, and that there were several cases of disobedience to the rules of the state of emergency in the last 24 hours by motorcycle taxi drivers, taxi drivers and traders.

Ninety arrests were made for disobedience and contempt, 49 of which in Luanda. Among the detainees was a pastor who held a service in disobedience with the guidelines of the authorities, which prohibit clusters.

520 vehicles and mototaxis were also seized and 556 citizens were gathered in agglomerations, with nearly 100 commercial establishments and markets still closed.

Among these was that of Kikolo, on the border with the municipalities of Cazenga and Cacuaco (Luanda), which the MININT official described as “a danger to public health and the spread of the covid-19 disease”.

The Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, said that eight cases of infection with the new coronavirus remain in Angola, with two dead, with 1918 people in quarantine.

591 samples were also taken and another 100 are being processed.
