CASA-CE considers it "right" to decrease ministerial portfolios in the country

The leader of CASA-CE considered this Tuesday "right" the decision of the President, João Lourenço, to reduce the number of ministries from 28 to 21, taking into account the financial difficulties of the country.

:

"Given the economic and financial conditions that the country is going through, the President has decided, in a way that we consider right, to reduce the number of ministerial portfolios," said the president of CASA-CE, André Mendes Carvalho 'Miau'.

Convergência Ampla de Salvação de Angola - Coligação Eleitoral is an electoral coalition founded by Abel Chivukuvu in 2012, who was removed last year and has since created a new project (Partido do Renascimento Angolano - Together for Angola).

André 'Miau' considered it "natural" for some ministers to be reinstated from the previous to the new executive, while others "would have to be eliminated" as some departments have been extinguished or absorbed by other ministries.

"He [John Lawrence] thought so, we must respect. If he thought it was okay we should understand that he will be okay insofar as they are his auxiliaries and the responsibility lies with the person of the President of the Republic himself," he said.

"Basically, we are talking about government, but we don't have a government, they are just assistants to the holder of executive power," he said.

That is why he will not "measure the performance of his auxiliaries: we understand that we must measure the performance of the holder of executive power because the government constitutionally does not exist.

For now, João Lourenço's performance, which is halfway through his mandate, is "sufficient", pointing to a grade "from 10/12 on a scale of zero to 20", he commented.

The leader of CASA-CE stated that the promotion of Adão de Almeida, who leaves the portfolio of Territorial Administration and State Reform to Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic "is an important step", being "a young man who is proving promising", although he is "a picture that acts very much with the partisan vein".

He also praised "the positive way" how Manuel Augusto, who leaves the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, performed the job, considering Tete António, his successor, as "a very experienced cadre" with "many potentialities".
