Covid-19: All passengers on flights from Lisbon between 17 and 19 March will be tested

The Secretary of State for Public Health announced that health authorities will collect samples, in the next three days, of all passengers from Lisbon between 17 and 19 March.

Franco Mufinda, who spoke in Luanda on the daily balance sheet of the epidemiological situation, announced that from April 29, samples will be taken from passengers from countries with community circulation that have not yet been tested, divided by days, airline queues and schedules .

This Wednesday, samples are expected to be collected for passengers on two Lisbon-Luanda flights, held on March 17, at the Américo Boavida Hospital and at the National School of Public Health (ENSP).

On Thursday, passengers from another Lisbon-Luanda flight will be tested on March 17, at the Américo Boavida Hospital, and passengers from Lisbon on March 18 at ENSP.

On Friday, samples will be taken from another 18 March flight and a 19 March flight, both from Lisbon, and subsequent flights will be “communicated in due course”.

Angola currently has 27 positive cases of infection with the new coronavirus, in a total of 2312 samples collected with seven recovered patients, 18 active and two deaths, with no new cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours.

There are still 283 samples in process and 708 people in institutional quarantine, with 404 suspected cases being followed.

Globally, according to a report by the AFP news agency, the covid-19 pandemic has already caused about 212,000 deaths and infected more than three million people in 193 countries and territories. More than 832,000 patients were considered cured. In Portugal, 948 people out of the 24,322 confirmed to be infected died, and there are 1389 recovered cases, according to the Directorate-General for Health.
