The information was released Saturday at a press conference in which the daily assessment of the covid-19 pandemic in Angola was made.
The cases relate to citizens aged between 18 and 35 years, of which four are male and one female.
Among the 24 cases identified there are two deaths, six recovered and 16 active, with 446 people in institutional quarantine.
The Minister of Health indicated that the new cases are related to Angolan citizens who returned "in a humanitarian", from Portugal.
"We received Angolan citizens on a flight that arrived on the 21st" of March, having left Portugal on the 20th, said Sílvia Lutucuta, stressing that the passengers were in institutional quarantine, distributed by the Calumbo I and II centers and the Victoria Garden and Infotur hotels .
The most recent cases will have been in contact with two patients identified on the 2nd of April, at the Hotel Infotur in Kilamba, where a group of young people will not have met the quarantine rules.
"We had a group of young people at Kilamba's Infotur, who, despite the best institutional quarantine conditions and were informed about the isolation rules, many did not comply with the rules, despite all the good conditions that were offered," said the minister, stressing that "was a challenging quarantine" in relation to these young people.
"We were in an ambiguous situation, we cannot consider whether they are cases of local or imported transmission because the circumstance is that they came on the 21st, some did not comply with the rules, broke the barriers, lived with each other and there was transmission of the covid-19 ", detailed Sílvia Lutucuta.
The number of deaths caused by covid-19 in Africa has exceeded 1000 in the last hours, with almost 20 thousand cases registered in 52 countries, reveals the latest update of the pandemic data in that continent.
