Users with multi-format cards that have already expired, i.e. after the expiry date, will be able to continue using them for another six months. The amendment will come into force as of next week.
In a statement to Angop, Joaquim Caniço, executive administrator of EMIS, revealed that technical changes are being made to the machines so that customers do not get their cards retained and can continue to carry out their operations normally, despite the expiry date written on the card having already been exceeded.
He also indicated that between 6 and 7 April these changes should be completed, thus allowing people to use the machines normally without having to go to the issuing banks.
