Invisuals will be able to read new kwanza notes

The new kwanza notes will now be readable by blind people. The new kwanza family will have, on each side, a relief allowing blind people to distinguish the notes.

It's known that the new notes will also have the lyrics of the National Anthem printed.

According to the newspaper Opaís, the new kwanza family will consist of six different types of banknotes: 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 and 10,000 kwanzas. The new notes will also have only the face of António Agostinho Neto, thus leaving aside the face of the former president, José Eduardo dos Santos, as had already been revealed at the end of last year.

The same newspaper also writes that the new printing and circulation of banknotes is related to the fact that the level of trust and security of money must be reinforced, thus allowing greater credibility in electronic payments.

The law on the issue and circulation of new banknotes was passed in January this year. In March, the President of the Republic enacted the law, which was published at the end of that month, thus fulfilling all the conditions for the issue of the new banknotes to proceed.
