"In Angola, two strategic ports that are fundamental for regional trade and mobility are entering a new phase. Applications are now open for the concession of port services at the maritime passenger and cargo terminals of the Port of Cabinda and the river passenger and cargo terminals of the Port of Soyo," announced the Ministry of Transport, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
According to the government, this concession will "represent more efficient, safe and modern port services", in addition to more employment opportunities.
"This concession will represent more efficient, safe and modern port services, more employment opportunities, better mobility for passengers and more growth for the local economy", says the ministry, in a video released by it and to which VerAngola had access.
"A self-sustainable management that will bring direct benefits to those who use the port every day and strengthen the country's economy," the Ministry added.
Therefore, the competition is open to both national and foreign companies.
"This bidding process is being processed in accordance with the Bidding Law and is open to the participation of national and foreign companies or associations of companies", informs the secretariat.
The contract execution period is 20 years, the Ministry further clarifies, explaining that the deadline for submitting applications and proposals will be 40 working days from the publication of the competition announcement in the Jornal de Angola.
