President appoints new ambassadors to Namibia, Germany and Mozambique

New ambassadors for Namibia, Germany and Mozambique were appointed this Thursday by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

According to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, with this appointment, Pedro Mutinde, former Minister of Hotels and Tourism and former governor of Cuando Cubango, becomes the new ambassador of Namibia.

By decree, João Lourenço also appointed Jovelina da Costa as Angola's ambassador to Mozambique and Maria Encoge as ambassador to Germany.

"The President of the Republic appointed Jovelina Alfredo António Imperial da Costa, to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Angola to the Republic of Mozambique; Maria Isabel Gomes Godinho de Resende Encoge, to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Angola to the Federal Republic of Germany; and Pedro Mutinde, to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Angola to the Republic of Namibia", reads the note.

Previously, in other decrees also signed this Thursday by the Head of State, José João Manuel, Jovelina da Costa and Maria Encoge were dismissed from their posts as Angolan ambassadors to Mozambique, Namibia and the Netherlands, respectively.

"The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, signed today [Thursday] decrees to dismiss José João Manuel, from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Angola in the Republic of Mozambique; Jovelina Alfredo António Imperial da Costa, from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Angola in the Republic of Namibia, and Maria Isabel Gomes Godinho de Resende Encoge, from the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Angola in the Kingdom of the Netherlands", the statement also states.
