The government, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, reported that the meeting began this Monday.
"The security situation in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo is being analysed at the joint ministerial meeting of the Southern African Development Community and the East African Community, which began this Monday, 17 March, in Harare, Zimbabwe", the note reads.
Taking place behind closed doors in the Zimbabwean parliament, the country is represented at the meeting by a delegation led by Téte António.
According to the statement, "one of the documents under analysis is the report of the joint meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of the Defence Forces on the ceasefire and cessation of hostilities in the DRC".
In addition, the meeting also intends to "focus on the preparation of a detailed roadmap with measures for immediate, medium and long-term implementation, including financing arrangements".
"Another issue that is also on the table is the creation of a technical coordination mechanism at the secretariat level, to monitor the implementation of the decisions of the joint summit", the note adds.
The Government also states that this event "is the second of its kind in the history of the two regional blocs" in Africa, after the joint summit that took place in Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania).
