The considerations were made this Friday, after João Lourenço and Edil Baisalov had held a meeting in Luanda.
Speaking to the press, the deputy prime minister of Kyrgyzstan said he had expressed to João Lourenço his country's "intention to identify areas of mutual interest for cooperation programs".
In this sense, according to a statement from CIPRA to which VerAngola had access, the meeting served as an opportunity for the two countries to discuss the "possibilities of cooperation in multilateral forums, mainly at the level of the United Nations, in order to contribute to the reform process of this international organization".
According to Baisalov, his country considers Angola "one of the closest and best friends" it has on the African continent.
Quoted in the CIPRA statement, the special envoy of President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Japarov (President of Kyrgyzstan) said that the meeting "served to recall the historical ties between the two countries", as well as to express the satisfaction of seeing Angola "following the paths to development, based on justice and solidarity".
"Looking at our history reminded me of my childhood and today, therefore, I am happy to be able to see Angola as a stable and successful country", he said.
In addition, the Kyrgyz leader also conveyed to João Lourenço "the congratulations of his country's government on the recent election as acting President of the African Union", the statement states.
It is worth remembering that João Lourenço assumed, on February 15, the rotating presidency of the African Union.
