"We discussed the Lobito Corridor, the Amufert fertilizer plant and other mining and oil projects, with the aim of supporting the Angolan economy. Angola, in the current context, chairs the African Union and, with President João Lourenço at the helm, we are committed to supporting infrastructural development on the continent and in Angola," said Eric Monchu Intong, quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, to which VerAngola had access.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Intong "praised the engagement of government authorities" in Angola, "including the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas", to address "strategic projects aimed at boosting the country's economic growth".
On the occasion, the head of Afreximbank "reiterated the bank's intention to collaborate closely with the Angolan Government and other financial institutions, such as Banco Comercial and the Central Bank, to ensure the success of the country's development agenda", the note reads.
"This is an excellent opportunity for us to engage in Angola's economic movement and the well-being of its population," the official added.
