"To date, four international companies with recognized technical and financial capacity and specialists in the management of airport infrastructures have acquired the specifications of the public tender for the concession of the management of the António Agostinho Neto International Airport", said the authority in a publication in social networks, cited by Jornal de Angola.
"These companies, of European and American origin, also carried out technical visits to the new airport to learn on site the capabilities and potential of all the infrastructure available and ready to operate", adds the ministry.
Recently, according to the ministry, cited by Jornal de Angola, another foreign operator, namely a consortium made up of Chinese companies, expressed interest in managing the airport.
It is worth remembering that the launch of the public tender took place on November 17th last year, with a concession period of 25 years, which can be extended for 15 years.
The inauguration of the 'Dr. António Agostinho Neto' took place on November 10, 2023 and was made by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço. It currently already receives cargo flights, with domestic flights expected to begin at the end of the first quarter of this year and international flights to begin in the third quarter.
