The first quarter of the game was won by Petro, who scored 31 points compared to their opponent's 14. The second quarter became more balanced, however the Angolans managed to stay ahead on the scoreboard.

When the half-time whistle sounded, Petro had the advantage. The match – which took place in Pretoria, South Africa – went to half-time with the Angolans winning by five points (47-42).

The 'Tricolores' closed the third quarter with a 16-point lead (77-61). The advantage was consolidated in the last quarter of the match, with Petro reaching 'plate 100'. Thus, the Angolans beat the Cape Town Tigers 100-88.

According to Angop, the top scorer was Glofate Buiamba, with 17 points, the same number scored by Carlos Morais.

Furthermore, Aginaldo Neto also stood out in the match against Cape Town Tigers. The midfielder made history at the start of his professional career by scoring the last two points of the match.

The 17-year-old entered the field less than a minute before the end of the game (at 52 seconds) and, according to Angop, suffered a foul that ended up being resolved and scoring 100 points for Petro.

This victory comes after Petro debuted with a defeat in their first game in the BAL. In the opening game, which took place on Saturday, Petro met FUS Rabat Basketball, with whom they lost 73-82.

It should be noted that at half-time, the Angolan team was already losing 31-41, a defeat that was confirmed at the final whistle.

It should be noted that in Saturday's game, Petro had the support, in the stands, of different Angolan entities from the political, cultural scene, etc. Among those present, according to Angop, the presence of the Angolan ambassador to South Africa, Rui Xavier, Maria Borges, model and tourism ambassador in the country, as well as Carlos Almeida, former captain of the National Basketball Team and Secretary of State for Sports, stood out.

Angolan students in South Africa also went to the pavilion to support Petro de Luanda.

Petro, who currently has three points, returns to the scene this Tuesday, to face Dynamo Basketball Club (Burundi).
