Upon his arrival, at Beijing International Airport, the head of state was received by senior national and Chinese figures, including Téte António, Minister of Foreign Affairs, writes Angop.

It should be noted that, at the time, João Lourenço did not speak to the press.

The visit of the President of the Republic begins this Friday, whose agenda includes a meeting with the President of China, Xi Jinping. Furthermore, João Lourenço also has scheduled meetings with the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Qiang, and the President of the National People's Assembly (parliament), Zhao Leji.

"A joint statement should be released following the Angolan President's conversations with the highest entities of the People's Republic of China", says a note from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access.

The head of state's agenda on Chinese soil also includes participation in a business forum, whose theme "investment in Angola will be at the center of the debates". Furthermore, the President of the Republic, adds the statement, will also grant audiences to "Chinese businessmen who already operate in the national market or wish to do so in the future".

A meeting is also planned between the President and representatives of the Angolan community in China.

On the last day of the visit, Sunday, the head of state will travel to the province of Xandong, where he will maintain "contacts with productive sectors in the fields of textile industry, pharmaceuticals and agricultural activity".

It should be noted that, this Wednesday, Beijing hosted the preparatory meeting for the Angola-China Business Forum, where investment opportunities in the agricultural sector, among other matters, were analyzed.

At this meeting, according to Angop, investors and technicians from both countries sat at the same table, some of whom already have investments on Angolan soil.

Luís Cupenala, president of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, pointed out that one of the highlights of João Lourenço's visit to the Asian country will be the protocol between Angola and China in the field of agriculture.
