João Lourenço begins three-day official visit to China next Friday

The head of state begins a three-day official visit to China this Friday to “address the future strategy of bilateral relations”, the Presidency announced in a statement.

The note highlights that, on the first day of the visit, João Lourenço and his host, Xi Jinping, will hold a meeting, and that, during his stay in China, the President also has scheduled meetings with the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Qiang , and with the president of the National People's Assembly (parliament), Zhao Leji.

"A joint statement should be released following conversations between the Angolan President and the highest entities of the People's Republic of China", details the note.

The visit program also includes João Lourenço's participation in a business forum, "where the topic of investment in Angola will be at the center of the debates", and working meetings between the Angolan President and Chinese businesspeople who already operate in Angola or intend to do so in future.

On the last day of the visit, João Lourenço travels to the province of Xandong, for contacts with productive sectors in the textile, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries.

João Lourenço has also scheduled a meeting with representatives of the Angolan community living in China.

The Angolan delegation includes the ministers of Energy and Water, Transport, Agriculture, Finance and Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas.
