AN delegation in Bahrain to participate in the 146th Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union

A delegation from the National Assembly (AN) is already in Bahrain, where it will participate, from 11 to 15 March, in the 146th Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union (IPU).

Led by Carolina Cerqueira, president of the AN, the delegation is also composed by the deputies Idalina Valente, Arlete Chimbinda and Albertina Felisberto.

Also part of the delegation are the deputies João Gaspar, Kilamba Van-Dúnem, and the secretary general of the National Assembly, Pedro Agostinho de Neri.

The national delegation arrived in Manamá, the capital of Bahrain, on Thursday. According to a note from Parliament, which VerAngola had access to, "upon arrival, the President of the National Assembly held a working meeting with members of the National Monitoring Group for the IPU".

For this Friday, the parliamentary leader has on her agenda the participation "in the meetings of the SADC Group and the African Geopolitical Group, both of the IPU, which foresee to establish consultations between the parliamentarians of the region".

According to Angop, at the 146th Assembly of the IPU, which will take place under the motto "Promoting Peaceful Coexistence and Inclusive Societies: Combating Intolerance", Angola will receive the testimony of Bahrain for the realization of the 147th Assembly of the IPU, the be organized by the Angolan parliament in October.
