PR travels to Huíla on a work visit

The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, is on a working visit to the province of Huíla this Wednesday. The re-inauguration of the Irene Neto Maternity Hospital and a visit to the construction works for the Lubango ring road are on the agenda of the head of state.

João Lourenço – who left Luanda on Wednesday morning – was welcomed at Mukanka Airport, in Lubango, by the provincial governor, Nuno Makapi.

According to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, in the capital of Huíla, the President of the Republic will reopen the Maternidade Irene Neto, after having been "rehabilitated and equipped with modern means", in a ceremony that will be attended by the Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, among others.

His agenda also includes carrying out "a visit to the construction work on the Lubango ring road which, once completed, will ease the pressure of road traffic on the Huila capital", adds the note.

The note also mentions that the head of state is accompanied by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço.

According to the spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Luís Fernando, the visit will last for "a few hours", and João Lourenço will leave Lubango this Wednesday, returning to the capital.
