Presidential order n.º 46/23 of March 14, already published in Diário da República, to which Lusa had access this Thursday, authorizes the expenditure in the said amount and formalizes the opening of the simplified contracting procedure by the material criterion.

The public works contract for the design, requalification and equipping of the Naval Base of Luanda, located on the Island of Luanda, will be signed between Mota-Engil and Simportex, the public company responsible for the acquisition of equipment and materials for the Armed Forces Angolans and Ministry of Defence.

The head of state justifies the measure by the "urgent need" to carry out the aforementioned works with a view to "substantial and concrete improvement" of social and economic conditions in the field of defense and security.
