European Union finances four new projects in Namibe

Camões presented four new subsidized projects for the province of Namibe under the European Union program FRESAN - Strengthening Resilience and Food and Nutrition Security in Angola.

:

The event follows an invitation from the FRESAN program to allocate around 14 million euros to high-impact projects among the most disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in Cunene, Huíla and Namibe.

The four new projects resulting from the last call for the presentation of grants to be developed in Namibe province, their benefits and expected impacts, were thus made known.

The province of Namibe has, since 2019, two projects subsidized by FRESAN, with a duration of 31 months, implemented by non-governmental organizations.

Through these projects, FRESAN has already supported 1428 peasants with measures to improve the productivity and resilience of agricultural and livestock systems in the context of climate change.

The subsidized projects have also been promoting access to water through the rehabilitation and construction of infrastructure to capture and retain water for human consumption, watering animals and agricultural production: having already benefited 2895 people,

The four projects now presented will reinforce the action of FRESAN/Camões for the
reduction of hunger, poverty and vulnerability to food and nutrition insecurity in Namibe.
