Cited by Angop, the finance minister considered that women play a crucial role in the country's development.

Speaking at the "Extended Meeting with Women from Various Strata of Society", under the theme "The preponderant role of women in the consolidation of a democratic, inclusive and developed Angola", Vera Daves also mentioned that the last congress of the Popular Movement of Liberation of Angola (MPLA) reached a historic moment for having reached the parity barrier.

The minister also considered that this milestone represents an ideology and historical vision of the party, which has always been guided by the emancipation of women and gender equality, fighting against discrimination, writes Angop.

At the meeting – which was also attended by the MPLA's first provincial secretary of Luanda, Bento Bento – the themes "Women's Participation in Political Life" and "Women's Participation in Public Life" were also addressed, and several women from Luanda, among other moments.
