In his message, published on the Government's Facebook page, the head of state considered "inexhaustible the examples given by Angolan women, from the times of the struggle for National Liberation, in which they stood out in a heroic way, to the present time".

João Lourenço also highlighted that women currently occupy, "by merit and in their own right, the most varied positions, demonstrating their competence and dedication in solving the problems that the country still faces".

"Your selfless and disinterested action in favor of the well-being of our people, whether in the private sphere or in the performance of the most varied functions of responsibility in all areas of public and social life, give you a value that deserves all our respect, affection and solidarity", he considered.

"To all Angolan women, I wish this day to be lived as one more stage of your desired empowerment and well-deserved happiness", concluded the head of state.
