Benguela General Hospital now has a unit for the treatment of complex diseases

The Benguela General Hospital has, as of this Tuesday, a new internal unit for the treatment of complex diseases.

:

The unit made available to citizens after a visit made by the Provincial Governor of Benguela, Luís Nunes, comprises two service areas, one with 48 beds and the other with 24 beds, which will accommodate neoro-surgery, otorhinolaryngology and ophthalmology services.

According to a statement that VerAngola had access to, the unit offers "an adequate space for treatments of diseases with some complexity and qualified doctors and nurses are available to accommodate and care for patients that may occur there".

According to the director of the Provincial Health Office in Benguela, António Cabinda, in the coming weeks, the emergency room of this same hospital unit will undergo rehabilitation and the process of requalification of the maternity operating room is also underway, with a view to giving greater dignity to the patients and workers.

António Cabinda also referred that several other areas of the General Hospital will undergo requalification with a view to providing better services to the population.

According to the official, the action comes within the scope of a request made to the multisectoral commission to combat covid-19, with the need to improve the main hospital unit in the province.
