The film “A Planta Milagrosa”, by the Angolan Henrique Sungo and the Santomean Felipe dos Anjos, was the big winner of the third edition of the ‘Yaoundé Film Lab Award’. Taking place from the 20th to the 29th of April, in Yaoundé, Cameroon, the artist residency will enable Henrique Sungo and Felipe dos Anjos to improve their techniques for capturing images and sounds as well as editing.

At the end of the training, the European Union (EU) will finance the film, revealed the Angolan, in statements to Jornal de Angola. However, the amount of the grant has not yet been defined.

Regarding the achievement, Henrique Sungo said he was happy and left a promise that he will dedicate himself to meet the expectations set by the organization, writes Jornal de Angola.

"A Planta Milagrosa", according to the Angolan, quoted by the same newspaper, concerns a feature film whose recordings, which should start this year, will take place between Portugal and São Tomé.

It is recalled that recently the two filmmakers premiered, on Youtube, the series 'Tray São'. They are also the creators of 'Unexpected Virus', which won the 'Short Film Documentary' category at the 2020 edition of the London Art House Film Festival.

The 'Yaoundé Film Lab Award' is funded by the 'Créer em Afrique Centrale' project, which is co-financed by the ACP-EU Cultural program (an EU initiative in partnership with the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States) and is implemented by 'Interarts, Culture et Développement', the Economic Community of Central African States, and the National Institute of Arts.
