The festival takes place within the scope of a multidisciplinary program launched by the Brazilian Embassy and the Brazil-Angola Cultural Center (CCBA), between 30 March and 9 April, with the involvement of partners from Angolan universities and creators and artists from Brazil, in addition to participation of local, Angolan and Brazilian traders, says a statement from the organization.

During these 10 days, films will be shown to different audiences, with director Marcelo Marão present at the opening session, who will present his film "Minhocas", the first great stop-motion film in Brazil, one of the most elaborate productions in history of animated cinema in the country, both in terms of budget and production time.

Another highlight of the show is "Bob Cuspe – Nós não gostamos de gente", a 2021 film by director César Cabral, based on an iconic character from the "quadradinhos" in the 1980s in Brazil.

The films in the exhibition are dubbed by well-known figures of Brazilian culture such as Wagner Moura, Rita Lee, Tonico Pereira, Leandro Hassum or Anitta and use techniques such as 'stop-motion', pencil on paper, 2D vector, painting on glass, computer graphics, clipping or direct to film. They come from different regions of Brazil, including Pernambuco, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Ceará, Santa Catarina, Rio de Janeiro and Goiás.

In addition to Anima BR, there will be a National Competition for the Creation of Digital Games (CNCJD) in Angola, a gastronomic and handicraft fair, a samba circle, a 'reggae show' and a party in the building's garden.

On March 31, Brazilian game creator Raquel Motta will demonstrate the games produced at her studio, Sue The Real, a production company that focuses all its work on creating games with Afro-Brazilian narratives, including "Angola Janga", based on a graphic novel by Marcelo D'Salete, or the more recent "Aya e seu lindo Black Power," built in the midst of the discussion about appearance, beauty and black bodies in Brazil.
