Angolans star in ‘Café Kwanza’. RTP Africa series premieres next week

The script has the signature of the Angolan Matamba Joaquim and Miguel Paiva. In statements to Platinaline, Matamba Joaquim said that the realization of the series was hard and full of challenges, taking into account the various setbacks experienced during creation.

The series will follow the daily life of Ti-Chico, a former military man who opens a café in Barreiro. Ti-Chico has the help of his nephew Kiki and young Lola to make the business prosper.

The café is seen as the meeting place for the various characters in the series, which will create the most amusing situations.

With Daniel Martinho giving life to Ti-Chico, the cast also includes Gio Lourenço, Manuela Pinto, Miguel Sermão, Meirinho Mendes, Carla Gomes, Solange Hilário, Diogo Balestra, Alexandre Ferreira, Fernando Nobre, Lara Mesquita, Luísa Gabriel, René Vidal, among others.

Cited by Platinaline, Manuela Pinto and Solange Hilário consider the fact that they were chosen to belong to a cast of Angolan actors in the diaspora as an honor.

The presentation of the series – which premieres on Saturday, March 26th – took place on Thursday, March 17th, in Lisbon.
