On Friday, two girls of 11 and 15 years, from the neighborhood Banda Azul, died when they were bathing outside the school, and on Sunday, another child of eight years drowned.
The municipal commander of the firemen, André Soares, told Radio Nacional of Angola that the situation is "worrying" and admitted that more deaths will happen.
With the beaches closed due to covid-19, many people use the arms of the river to bathe and with the recent rains the volume of water has increased making the river more dangerous, warned the head of the fire department.
