MPLA deputy says party bets on dialogue with Angolans "who think differently or not"

The MPLA vice president defended this Wednesday, in Luanda, the need for dialogue, "with people who think differently or not," for the development of society.

:

Luísa Damião spoke at the opening of the first bimonthly meeting, called "Termómetro", with the aim of listening to members of civil society to contribute to the increase of the mechanism of interactive and open dialogue on major national and international issues between the party and society.

According to Luísa Damião, the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) is aware that "the greater the degree of inclusion of societies, the greater their efficiency and their ability to guarantee the well-being, happiness, of their citizens ".

"Conversely, the lower the levels of inclusion in a society, the lower its chances of growing, prospering and developing," said the party leader.

The meeting was attended by Fernando Pacheco, from the Action for Rural Development and Environment (ADRA), Suzana Mendes, project director for the Forum of Women Journalists for Gender Equality, Ismael Mateus, journalist, and Teixeira Vinte, pastor and executive secretary of the Church Seventh-day Adventist.

For Luísa Damião, "the plural and constructive dialogue must happen with people who think differently or not", stressing that "dialogue is fundamental".

"We believe that knowledge is today an ethical, cultural and fundamental value, that promotes development and that nowadays must be shared. In fact, it contributes significantly to a better world", she said.

The vice-president of the party praised the initiatives of horizontal dialogue, proximity and very participatory, promoted by the President of the Republic and MPLA leader, João Lourenço, with civil society in addition to institutional meetings at the local and central level.

At the end of the meeting, in statements to the press, Teixeira Vinte said that the meeting was mainly based on social issues, stressing that the contributions were in the sense of "putting man first."

"There will be greater interaction, respect between institutions and make the promises made during the campaigns that allowed the marriage between the governing party and the whole society, make them come true, even though we are at the end of the mandate. But we still think it is possible that some promises that have been made can be kept ", he stressed.
