Considering this as "a historic day for African Cinema in the Portuguese Language", the actor marked the beginning of the partnership, referring that the contents of the Tellas platform will be seen by more than 60 million viewers of RTP Africa.
Sílvio Nascimento highlights the importance of this agreement, which will bring more visibility to African cinema and "will elevate the work with great professionalism done by everyone".
According to Angop, the agreement provides that on Mondays, starting at 10 pm, the Portuguese television chair will show films and other content from the seventh art of Angolan, Cape Verdean, Mozambican, Bissau-Guinean and Sao Tome artists.
These contents will also be available on Tellas, a streaming service created by the actor - similar to Netflix - whose original content is obtained and available exclusively on the platform.
"I am very happy with this partnership that we have just entered into, as it is a great advantage for Angolan cinema and other Portuguese-speaking countries, since every Monday we will see on this channel a film that is on the Tellas platform," he said the actor to Angop.
Sílvio Nascimento also mentioned that there are many directors in the PALOP countries with good productions but without opportunities for dissemination.
It is recalled that the Tellas platform was created five years ago, having been in operation for three years. For 1000 kwanzas per month (or three dollars) it is possible to subscribe and watch content such as films, series, podcasts, short films, documentaries, stand-up comedy, etc. The platform currently has 30,000 subscribers.
