Sílvia Lutucuta mentioned, in statements to the press, that educators and other professionals related to preschoolers and all the staff connected to daycare centers started to be vaccinated.
"The forecast is that we will vaccinate around 10,000 professionals in this segment," said the minister, noting that "another very important class, which is the crew, flight attendants, pilots", will also be vaccinated this week.
The Health Minister stated that, in addition to the province of Luanda, the vaccination process will take place in Cabinda, Benguela, and the decision was taken to extend it to the provinces of Huambo and Huíla as well.
The vaccination campaign started in Angola on 2 March, the day on which the country received the first batch of 624 thousand doses of vaccines from AstraZeneca, within the scope of the Covax initiative.
Until Saturday, 37,593 people were vaccinated in the country against the covid-19.
Angola records a total of 21,380 positive cases, of which 521 resulted in death, and 19,850 people recovered from the disease.
