According to the daily bulletin on the covid-19 pandemic, 18 male and 26 female cases, aged between 2 and 74 years old, were diagnosed in the last 24 hours, 40 of them in Luanda, two in Cuanza Sul and one each in the provinces of Cuanza Norte and Huíla.
A 47-year-old citizen died in the province of Luanda, while the cases considered recovered, aged between 5 and 69 years old, were registered in the provinces of Huambo (40), Luanda (22) and Huíla (4).
Of the 861 active cases, four patients are in critical condition, nine in severe condition, 32 moderate, 24 mild and 792 asymptomatic.
In the last 24 hours, 864 samples were processed by RT-PCR and 174 by rapid diagnostic test, pointing the cumulative number of samples processed to 405,695, representing a positivity rate of 5.2 percent.
In the period in reference, 5364 people were vaccinated in the province of Luanda, of which 4601 health professionals and 763 elderly, totaling since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, on the 5th of this month, 24,440 people.
The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,621,295 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 117.9 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
