The objective of the South African businessmen is to invest in the Angolan health infrastructure. The investors, who are linked to the Anzologix Group, intend to create public-private partnerships to invest in the construction of hospitals and clinics in the country.
Cited by Angop, the chief executive of Anzologix, Mdu Msomi, made it known that the company wants to invest about US$ 1.2 billion to start the construction project. The objective is to leverage the project in collaboration with the Angolan authorities.
In addition, the South Africans also want to strengthen the industry for production of medicines and hospital materials.
This investment, according to Angop, aims at improving the conditions of medical response to the population, through the construction of hospital infrastructures throughout the country.
During the meeting, the ambassador explained to the businessmen how the business environment is in Angola and which laws are in force. She also elucidated what kind of fiscal incentives exist and how the repatriation of profits works according to the Private Investment Law.
The process will soon be forwarded to the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) to be handled according to the Government's priorities, Angop reported.
