Country with 41 more cases of covid-19 and 99 recoveries

The country registered, in the last 24 hours, 41 more cases of covid-19, announced this Wednesday the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda.

The cases were reported in Luanda (35), Benguela (3), Uíge (2) and Cabinda (1), aged between 1 month and 64 years, 29 male and 12 female.

No deaths were reported and 99 people were considered recovered from the disease, 89 of them in Luanda, aged between 1 and 82 years.

Angola totals 20,923 cases, of which 510 deaths, 19,509 recoveries and 904 active cases, including one person in critical condition and 11 in serious condition.

Laboratories have processed 1507 samples, bringing the total to 397,906 samples to date.

Since January 16, 16,199 travelers have been tested upon arrival at Luanda International Airport, 47 of whom tested positive in antigen tests, post-departure.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,549,910 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 114.7 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
