The platform, which already has about 200 voluntary donors registered, began to be thought of in 2017. It was with the help of the office of the deputy governor of Huila, Maria João Chipalavela, that José João managed to get the project off the paper and put it into practice.
Speaking to Angop, the creator explained that this application will be available for both android and iOS systems. For now, the tool is able to work on android phones, he said, adding that the final touches are being made for the application to be available for iOS system.
But how does "Sangue Vida" work? According to the university professor, it is simple. After installing the platform, users have access to the areas of public services that exist in the country that have blood banks, and their contacts. The application also allows users to search for the location of available donors, based on the province they are in.
Those who want to register as voluntary donors only have to access "an icon that enables them to register and become donors, with the availability of a form", said the responsible.
He also stressed that the donors who are registered in the application are volunteers, in other words, they don't receive any kind of payment for it.
José João is 31 years old and is a teacher in the Polytechnic Institutes of Huíla and Independents. He graduated in educational information from ISCED-Huíla and later took a post-graduate course in software engineering at the University of Kroton in Brazil.
According to Angop, along with "Sangue Vida", the university professor was also responsible for the creation of the "Com Vida 20" platform. Created with the purpose of helping the Multisectoral Commission for the Fight against Covid-19 in Huila, this platform allows the supervision of people who must be under home quarantine after arriving in the province.
