Inauguration of urban art panel created by the collective Verkron

:

The Camões - Portuguese Cultural Center (CCP) in Luanda will hold, next Tuesday, at 5 pm, an inauguration ceremony of an urban art panel created by the collective Verkron, whose main object is to evoke the historical relations between the continents European and African. An initiative that is part of the cultural activities of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2021 (PPUE2021).

"Nhali - It could only be a love story" is the title that the collective Verkron gave to this urban art panel created for the Portuguese Cultural Center, which intends to be allusive to the relations between Europe and Africa and the role of the Portuguese language in relationship between peoples and in the creation of new spaces of communicability and cultural exchange, symbolized in the figure of the poet Luís Vaz de Camões.

The work began to be conceived in December and will be on Tuesday exposed to the public in the outer space of Camões. The Verkron collective is a group of Angolan plastic artists who dedicate themselves to urban art and which has produced many of the most emblematic murals that bring a new color to the city of Luanda. The origin of its name ("Verkron") results from the combination of two words: veritate (truth in Latin) and khrôma (color in Greek), meaning colorful truth.
