PREI grants 29 million kwanzas and credit

The Informal Economy Conversion Program (PREI) registered, in the last week, 18 new credit applications for a total amount of 56 million kwanzas.

Of the applications received, nine candidates received a financing amounting to 29 million kwanzas, according to a government statement to which VerAngola had access.

Of this amount, 12.5 million kwanzas will be invested in the food processing sector, 8.5 million in the sector of products and services in the agribusiness chain, 7.5 million in the field of logistics and distribution of agri-food and fishery products and 500 thousand in the area of ​​cultural and artistic production.

Within the scope of the Economic Relief Program, since the start of the micro-credit financing line, 1924 applications have already been registered in the amount of approximately 4.5 billion kwanzas.

The stock of this credit line is 1.5 billion kwanzas and has already enabled the formalization of 678 micro and small companies.

By the end of 2022, the goal foreseen in the National Development Plan is to reach 2000 micro-entrepreneurs.

For this year, the objective is to formalize 750 micro-entrepreneurs, including 428 integrated in this process.

As for activities related to PRODESI, 10 promoters' certificates of non-debtors were handed over to promoters by the National Social Security Institute, as part of the service to improve the business environment.

Regarding the support service for accessing credit, 130 projects still to be approved remain in the bank. Overall, since 2019, the financial instruments and products available to PRODESI have made it possible to approve 745 projects, with the prospect of generating 46 thousand jobs. The approved projects amount to approximately 492.5 billion kwanzas.

With regard to the sectoral distribution of the approved projects, agriculture stands out with 347, commerce and distribution with 215, manufacturing industry with 104, livestock with 30, aquaculture with 24, sea fishing with 20 and continental fishing with five.

In the distribution of approved projects by province, Luanda leads with 157, Huambo has 58, Benguela 56, Huíla 46, Cuanza Sul 43, Bengo 39, Bié 38, Uíge 36, Cuando Cubango 32, Cunene 30, Namibe 29, Lunda Sul 29 , Malanje 28, Cabinda 28, Zaire 26, Lunda Norte 25, Cuanza Norte 23 and Moxico 22.
On the Portal for the Dissemination of National Production (PPN), currently with a register of 10,500 national producers, the registration of other interested parties continues.
