Portuguese Cultural Center in Luanda inaugurates panel that evokes Europe-Africa relations

Camões - Centro Cultural Português (CCP) in Luanda inaugurated this Tuesday a panel of urban art created by the collective Verkron, alluding to the historical relations between Europe and Africa and the role of the Portuguese language in the relationship between peoples.

:

"Nhali - It could only be a love story" is the title that the collective Verkron gave to the panel of urban art, "which intends to be allusive to the relations between Europe and Africa and the role of the Portuguese language in the relationship between peoples and in creation of new spaces for communicability and cultural exchange, symbolized in the figure of the poet Luís Vaz de Camões ", highlighted the CCP.

The Verkron collective is composed of Angolan plastic artists who are dedicated to urban art and who have produced many of the emblematic murals of the city of Luanda.

The name Verkron results from the combination of two words: veritate (truth in Latin) and khrôma (color in Greek), meaning colorful truth.

The work began to be conceived in December and will be exposed to the public in the outer space of Camões - CCP.

The initiative is part of the cultural activities of the Portuguese presidency of the Council of the European Union 2021.

The Portuguese ambassador to Angola, Pedro Pessoa and Costa, the European Union ambassador to Angola, Jeannette Seppen and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tete António, were present at the initiative.
